Bugeye has released new single When the Lights Go Out digitally today (24 April 2020) via Reckless Yes. The single is the latest to be taken from their forthcoming debut album Ready Steady Bang.
The single has been played across RadioX, Amazing Radio, and on US stations including Sirius FM as well as gathering praise from online blogs.
God Is In The TV premiered the lockdown-filmed video calling the track “an upbeat punk thumper” while Get In Her Ears said it was, “a swaggering piece of disco-punk, the song blends crunchy rock ‘n’ roll guitars and snarling vocals with swirling keyboards and poppy harmonies.”
Dreamin Is Free said, “if you’re a fan of Blondie, Bowie, Pixies and love a bit of disco, then you’re going to love this track” while The Zine said, “it’s the sound of a space-cadet school disco exploding euphoria in shimmery techni-coloured layers of HD instrumental sounds, vocals included.”
The single follows Don’t Stop and Electric to lead into the debut album – Ready Steady Bang – which is now set for release on 10 July on vinyl, CD, and digital. With a Reckless Yes members’ limited edition colour vinyl, as well as a colour for general release, pre-orders are set to open in the next week.
The band’s live dates are currently on hold but a UK tour will be announced as soon as is possible.
