We’re very pleased to share with you the news that Derby artist Grawl!x has joined the Reckless Yes Records roster.
Grawl!x, the solo project of James Machin, is already two albums in and currently working on a third, together the records will form a trilogy dealing on the theme of grief. He joins Reckless Yes ahead of the release of the third long player and following a recent performance at the label’s Six Impossible Things night.
Sarah said: “I first fell in love with Grawl!x when I covered first album, Good Grief, on Louder Than War and my heart just got bigger for them listening to songs from second album Aye! being performed in the stunning setting of Derby Cathedral last year.
“These songs are overwhelming swells, the desolation of tides drawn away – beautiful but subtle orchestration, sparse harmonies and breathtaking swings between vulnerability and strength. One of the most creative minds I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet I’m delighted to welcome Grawl!x to the Reckless Yes family.”
Pete said: “We’re thrilled to be working with Grawl!x because we genuinely have never heard another band like them – to label them post rock or nu-gaze would simply be lazy.
“They weave a breathtaking tapestry of soundscapes into which delicate vocal harmonies are skilfully sewn. Somehow the spaces between the notes are as important as the notes themselves. The new album will melt your heart.”
More details will follow but for now you can find Grawl!x on Bandcamp, Facebook and Twitter.
