Chorusgirl has release second album Shimmer and Spin and is on UK tour to bring the indiepop noise rock beauty to the masses.
The album is their first for Reckless Yes and follows their 2015 debut on Fortuna POP!
Vinyl and CD copies of the album are flying out (get yours here) and there’s lots of love from fans and press alike.
“Their occasionally poppy, optimistic sound acts as an effective juxtaposition to the undercurrent of darker lyrical themes, too. Chorusgirl have shown a predilection for melodies that gnaw away at your subconscious.” Loud & Quiet, 8/10
“There’s an instant familiarity to the songs here, with Silvi Wersing’s voice a perfect counterpoint to the icily melodic 80s indie-pop vibes. Another brilliant record from a band who seem to be capable of nothing else.” NARC, 5/5
“Shimmer And Spin may come from a difficult place in the life of Chorusgirl, yet it explores the darkness and finds the beauty within it, as it threatens to fall into the depth of despair, it finds a glimmer of hope. It shimmers and spins and shines more than we could possibly have hoped it would.” For The Rabbits
“It may have that shimmer of shiny guitars and pulsing synths, but Taylor sings of anxiety and a desperate attempt to run away and hide in isolation” Songwriting Magazine
“New album ‘Shimmer And Spin’ delves deeper than before, presenting a broader, more rounded depiction of the group.” Clash
“Resplendent with reverb-laden guitar jangle, subtle percussion and Silvi Wersing’s wonderful deadpan vocals” Joyzine
“jangly with just a little surfy twang.” Brooklyn Vegan
“At their very best here, these players crank out ornate soundscapes that skirt the edges of shoegaze (“Kinetic Theory”), or travel a path that suggests Kate Bush and The Long Blondes (“Stitches”) at the same time.” A Pessimist Is Never Disappointed
