We’re delighted to share with you the news of a new addition to the Reckless Yes Records roster as Nottingham garage pop duo You Want Fox sign with us.
Forming in 2015 from the ashes of punk band The Smears, You Want Fox make being a two piece a huge sound bursting with killer pop hooks and giving you a wit and a wink lyrically.
They released debut long player ‘You Can’t Sit With Us’ earlier this year and gathered praise from the likes of Kerrang as well as playing Dot to Dot and filling support slots with Misty Miller and Riding the Low.
Sarah said: “You Want Fox are a blistering blend of heavy riffs, sublime pop hooks, and the sort of playful but grown up lyrics that leave a massive grin over your face.
“Melodically they are channeling Queens Of The Stone Age, Royal Blood and The Julie Ruin. It’s a glorious riot of bass lines thundering through you, and dancing rhythms that make you move. It’s a frolic of lyrics that sneer as often as they smirk and while they’re taking the politics of Riot Grrrl to a personal level I love them for making tunes that stick in your head for days and make it impossible not to dance and sing along live.”
Pete said: “We are really excited to welcome You Want Fox on to our label – we’ve been hunting them for a while having fallen in love with their blend of killer riffs and unashamedly garage pop vocal melodies earlier in the year.
“When we finally booked them live, we were blown away by how huge they sound for a two piece and from that point on we just knew we had to work with them.
“If the new demos are anything to go by, they’ve already upped their ear-worm game several notches for their second album and 2017 will be the year of the fox!”
