We’ve been harbouring a secret between us and the crows.
It’s something we’ve both wanted for all time and yet, when it happened, it was with a startling suddenness.
And after a week of big easy grins; sums scratched out in pencil, done over twice; after feeling the years all rush at you when you press play; after the exhilaration of the possibilities.
After all that, it’s time for us to share:
We’re a record label now.
Announcing RY001
The crows kindly kept this to themselves (as all good crows do) until we had a record to release. Anyone can say they’re a record label but it takes a special kind of resolve to actually bind music into a physical form.
And so we announce not just Reckless Yes Records but our first release:
RY001: Bivouac – Sweet Heart Deal / Deep Blue Sea Surround
Ltd edition coloured vinyl 7″
That’s right: we’re releasing the comeback single from ’90’s alt rock legends Bivouac.
Hearing these tracks for the first time was a little surreal, totally exhilarating. Filled with apprehension we pressed play and within seconds huge grins were across both our faces, our little hearts beating in time to what we consider to be one of their best songs (yes, ever). We absolutely can’t wait for you to hear it, and we’re honoured to be releasing this with the band, who were previously signed to Elemental and Geffen.
More news about the single will be coming soon but, guess what?
This isn’t our only secret, it’s not the only thing foretold in our cards. There’ll be another despatch from the Reckless Yes bureau soon…
