Exciting news from LIINES today as they announce details of their next single and that they will be on UK tour in October and November.
Following signing to us here at Reckless Yes Records the band headed into the studio with producer Paul Tipler (Idlewild, Placebo, Elastica, Stereolab) to record their double-A side of new tracks Disappear and Be Here. We’ll be releasing the single on pure white 7″ vinyl and digitally on 28 October 2016.
LIINES will kick off their UK tour at Birthdays in London the next night (Saturday 29 October) and wrap it up a month later at AATMA in Manchester on 26 November. Pairing up with Scruff of the Neck to book the tour, full details will be released soon (including the band’s Derby date for Reckless Yes!). Tickets for all dates will be available through the band’s website.
The record is their first for us here at Reckless Yes but follows on from their well-received debut Never There and second single Blackout.
Pete Darrington, of Reckless Yes, said: “LIINES are astonishingly brilliant. Angular and tense, sparse one moment and then a wall of glass shattering noise the next. I’m convinced they are the illegitimate offspring of Fugazi and Sleater-Kinney.”
Sarah Lay, of Reckless Yes, said: “This is a single which showcases the scale of LIINES sound; a vastness that makes you anticipate each beat, rewarded with huge hooks to make your heart hammer hard.”
Details of how to pre-order the single will be announced soon along with those further tour dates. In the meantime you can find previous singles and more info on the LIINES website and follow the band on Facebook and Twitter.
The next release from Reckless Yes Records is out this week – the debut album from Unqualified Nurse Band. You’ll be able to get Debasement Tapes digitally through Bandcamp this Friday where you can also pre-order the red vinyl, shipping early October.
